Rabbi Moshe Pitchon
Moshe Pitchon, a proponent of Machshevet Yisrael (“Jewish Thinking”). Born in Argentina in 1948 he has been living and working in the United States for the past five decades.
His writings on Jewish thought, ethics, the Bible, literature, history, and Israeli politics appear in media worldwide in different languages. His books have been published in English and Spanish.
He attended the Conservative Rabbinical Seminary in Buenos Aires and studied philosophy and the Bible both in Buenos Aires and Jerusalem, studying with some of the most prolific and creative minds in those countries. The philosopher Martin Buber, Professor Severino Croato, Rabbi Jacob B. Agus, Professor Victor Massuh, Professor Yosef Ben-Shlomo, and others.
He served for close to 20 years in synagogues, Jewish schools, and Jewish youth organizations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Israel, California, and Florida.
Besides having been an active supporter of the State of Israel and having been the president, in the United States, of the Friends of Israel’s northernmost hospital, Rabbi Pitchon has served as chaplain in different organizations, including universities and colleges, the fire department, and assisted living facilities.
He taught Jewish philosophy and biblical literature at the University of Chile and frequently lectures on “Machshevet Yisrael” subjects in the United States.
He currently leads a program focused on the study of Jewish development in the 21st century. In addition to the 21stCenturyJudaism.com think tank and its website, Rabbi Pitchon also publishes “Life in the Third Jewish Commonwealth” (https://third-jewish-commonwealth.ghost.io), a website that elucidates the complexities of Israeli politics.
